Can Coloma

Can Coloma is a recently fully refurbished holiday home for families and friends to come and enjoy nature at its best. We are surrounded by the stunning UNICO Montseny mountain range which boasts hundreds of kilometres of quiet roads, cycle routes, footpaths and bridleways. Bring your walking shoes as your journey into nature begins as soon you leave the front gate and step into the beautiful countryside on your doorstep. 

Facilities

Outdoors there is a 12m x 6m salt water swimming pool, a large undercover barbecue area, a pizza oven, terraces for alfresco dining, hammocks to lounge in and soak up the spectacular mountain views, a spacious lawn for football and archery and a sunny area to the side of the house with table tennis and darts; bring your yoga mat too for some incredible sunrise and sunset yoga sessions by the pool! We have a small vineyard, fruit trees, an organic vegetable garden, herb beds and free range eggs (help yourself) and a lovely old German Shepherd dog, 3 chickens and a couple of friendly ponies. With forested hills in every direction but only a 5 minute drive from Hostalric with a train station, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, you will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle yet with in easy reach of all amenities.

Inside the house there is WiFi throughout, a study with games console (Nintendo Switch), spacious living room with Netflix and Disney Plus, family board games and a large open fireplace for the evenings. There are three spacious air-conditioned king size bedrooms, with an additional two single fold out sofa beds in the study if needed. A large family bathroom upstairs has a shower, bath, w.c and bidet and downstairs there is a w.c and shower room.

Locally

Local activities and places to visit include Hostalric Castle, Castell de Montsoriu, the Montseny mountain range, Michelin stared restaurants, La Roca Village shopping centre, bike rental, horse riding, light aircraft and helicopter flights, bungee jumping, canoe and boat rental, scuba diving, Water World (Lloret de Mar), costal catamaran rides, botanical gardens, wine tasting tours, archaeological sites, rock climbing, guided nature walks, historical city tours and more.

The Costa Brava is only 25 minutes by car with some of the most beautiful coves and beaches to explore in Spain. A city trip to Barcelona is just 50 mins by train and Girona is reached in 25 minutes. Both trains stop in Hostalric every other hour which you can either walk to or drive to from Can Coloma (15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive). 

Further afield

The renowned Medieval village of Rupit (featured in the UN list of the Best Tourism Villages in the world 2022) is a 1 hour 10 minutes drive, Castellfollit de la Roca is an hour, the Sau reservoir less than an hour and Besalú is 50 minutes away. On the coast, Playa Santa Cristina is 30 minutes by car, Tossa de Mar is approximately 35 minutes and both Calella de Palafrugell and Pals are 50 minutes by car. The Catalan Pyrenees and ski resorts are approximately 2 hours away and the French border is just over an hour's drive. We are just under an hour from Barcelona Airport and 25 minutes from Girona Airport.

Can Coloma is perfectly positioned, nestled in the Montseny foothills, to be tailor made into your perfect dream holiday, however you wish to spend it.
